Posted Date: 09/18/26 (07:11 AM)

The Galway Varsity Volleyball team has reached an incredible milestone, earning its 100th consecutive Western Athletic Conference (WAC) League victory with a 3-0 win over Cobleskill-Richmondville.

The Eagles defeated Cobleskill-Richmondville by scores of 25-5, 25-6, and 25-16, marking the program’s 100th straight WAC League win dating back to 2017.

Several Eagles contributed to the historic victory. Kiera Allen led the team with 12 kills, while Courtney Smith added 11 kills and three aces. Sadie Stead recorded 17 digs, and Emma Menge contributed three blocks. Kenzie Gardinier finished with 22 service points and 15 assists.

With the victory, Galway improves to 3-0 both in league play and overall this season.

While tonight’s victory belongs to the current Eagles, this milestone represents the dedication of countless student-athletes and coaches who have contributed to the Galway volleyball program over the past decade. A streak of this magnitude is a true testament to the hard work, commitment, teamwork, and tradition that generations of Eagles have brought to the court.

Congratulations and thank you to all of the players and coaches who have been part of this remarkable journey since 2017!

The Golden Eagles will look to continue their season on Saturday, when Galway hosts the 9/11 Never Forget Tournament.
