ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Wake up with determination and let Wednesday be your day to shine, Eagle Nation!!!  The Eagles went 3-0 yesterday in sports, so make sure to check out the scoreboard and highlights.  Check out the schedule, as we are action-packed over the next two weeks.  Don't forget Homecoming 2026 is right around the corner.  The Dunk Tank will be back, so be ready to sink Mr. Ratti and Mr. Burhman.

HIGHLIGHTS

Volleyball Highlights

The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Loudonville Christian last night in a WAC league match-up. The Golden Eagles cruised to a road win, 25-10, 25-6, 25-12.  Kiera Allen led the way with 11 kills.  Courtney Smith added 5 kills, 2 aces, and a block.  Samantha Becker had 17 service points with 8 aces, and Kristina Becker added 11 service points, 2 kills, and 11 assists.  The Eagles move to 2-0 in the league and overall. The Eagles host their home opener Thursday evening as they aim for their 100th consecutive league win against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Girls Soccer Highlights

Coming off a late night with the Storm, the Galway Girls Varsity Soccer Team held together to capture their second league victory of the season against Middleburgh, 2-0.  The girls dominated possession throughout the first half and built up the field well together. With 10 minutes to go before halftime, Junior Norah Schaperjahn put one away from 18 yards out to put the Golden Eagles up. Middleburgh gave them nothing easy throughout the second half. With 15 minutes to play, Sophomore Josie Price found the back of the net off an assist from Senior Captain Olivia Davison-Gauss. Senior and Rookie Goalkeeper Lily Bain stopped 4 shots to secure her second shutout of the season. The win moves the girls to 2-2 in league play. The girls return to action Monday afternoon as they take on Johnstown at home. 

Boys Soccer Highlights

The Varsity team bounced back with a win on the road at Middleburgh. Middleburgh came out aggressively and moved the ball forward early in the game. As the game settled, both teams traded chances until Galway was awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the box. Jameson Wagner, of Galway, stepped up to take the kick, but Middleburgh's keeper, Robert Narzymski, guessed right and made a great save on the initial shot, but could not keep a hold of it, and Jameson Wagner finished the rebound to put Galway up 1-0. In the second half, the back-and-forth continued until Logan MacIsaac, Galway's center-mid, played a through ball to Jameson Wagner for the assist on Jameson's second goal of the night.  Jameson finished his hat trick by finding the back of the net on a free kick from 25 yards away. Galway's keeper, Hayden Flint, had 6 saves on the night.
