Boys Soccer Highlights
The Boys Varsity soccer team traveled to Schoharie on Monday for an early WAC matchup. Galway's defense and goalkeeper, Hayden Flint, turned away almost every Storm attack. The game was scoreless at the half. With 15 minutes left, Schoharie's RJ Smith scored for the Storm. The Golden Eagles would not give up and mounted a few attacks of their own. One of those almost tied the game when a Galway shot found the Schoharie crossbar before being cleared away. With five minutes to go, Schoharie received a PK, but it was missed. Finally, with just over two minutes to go, a Galway defender, trying to clear the ball, inadvertently hit it into his own net as the Eagles fell to the Storm 2-0. Flint was key in limiting the Schoharie goals, finishing with 14 saves on the night.
- The Modified boys soccer team took the field yesterday for their first match against Johnstown and won 10-0. The team controlled the game from start to finish; 7 different players scored goals, with 8 assists spread across the team. Their next game is home Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against Schoharie.
