ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

School Sports Photos

School sports photos are on Friday (9/11) after school.  Athletes received order envelopes today at practice, so please check with them to make sure they fill them out and bring them on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Soccer Highlights

The Galway Golden Eagles earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over BKW-Duanesburg, battling through rainy conditions to secure the win.  Sophomore Josie Price scored the match’s lone goal in the first half off an assist from senior captain Olivia Davison-Gauss. With just a 12-player roster, the team dug deep through a demanding second half to protect the lead.  Senior rookie goalkeeper Lily Bain delivered a standout career debut in the downpour. BKW-Duanesburg learned the hard way that when it rains, it Bains. Lily tallied 18 saves to secure her first career shutout.  The team delivered an impressive all-around effort. Galway looks to carry this momentum into their game tonight against Cobleskill-Richmondville. Congratulations to the team on a hard-fought win.

Volleyball Highlights

The Modified Volleyball team opened its season with a 2-0 sweep over NDBG.  The team was led by strong serving from Addison Older, Brooklynn Taylor, Cece Verret, Avery Wood, and Addy Glenn, who all put on long, impressive service runs and each got multiple aces.  The Eagles are back in action tomorrow as they scrimmage Amsterdam. 

Boys Soccer Highlights

The Varsity team traveled to BWK-Duanesburg on a rainy afternoon. The first half saw both teams share possession, with BKW-D getting more shots on goal. BKW-D was able to score on a long ball over the top of Galway's defense. In the second half, BKW-D held a majority of possession and scored with 10 minutes left in the game. Galway's keeper, Hayden Flint, had 10 saves in the game.
