Happy Tuesday, Eagle Nation. Having even one small positive thought can change the rest of your day for the better. It is the last full week of class in the High School. It is time to buckle up and make that final push to get all your work done and prep for exams. Summer will be here before you know it.
Congratulations to our Track and Field Athletes who competed at the State Qualifiers Meet. Unfortunately, we didn't have any athletes advance to states, but we had a great showing, including Nora Schaperjahn placing 3rd in the Steeple Chase and Mae Burdis breaking her own school record in discus. Check out all the highlights below.
The Varsity Softball team defeated #6th-ranked Ticonderoga on Friday in the State Quarterfinals to advance to the State Semifinals on Friday, June 12th at 5:30 p.m. at Greenlight Networks Park in Binghamton, as they will take on the #2 team in the state, Pine Plains.
- Congratulations to our Trap Team members who competed at States yesterday. We are still awaiting their highlights from the competition.
Congratulations to the Varsity Softball Team as they won the Regional Championship (State Quarterfinal)!!!!!!!! They move on to the State Semi-Finals for the first time in school history!!!! SPECTATOR BUS to Softball State Semi-finals!!!!! We will have a spectator bus to the State Semi-finals in Binghamton on Friday, June 12th? Dismissal will be at 1:30 p.m. with a 1:45 departure. Game time is 5:30 p.m. If they win on Friday, we will also have a spectator bus for Saturday departing at 10:00 am for a 1:30 p.m. game start. You can purchase your ticket in advance at GoFan. Please see the link below. The first fifty (50) students who turn in their permission slips will be able to ride the bus. Permission slips and the sign-up list are at the High School Office.

Softball Highlights
Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team as they defeated the 6th-ranked Ticonderoga Sentinels Friday in a NYSPHSAA State Quarterfinal game, 18-1, to advance to the state final four for the first time in school history. The bats came alive for the Eagles as they pounded out 14 hits. Courtney Smith hit a two-run home run and singled to drive in two more runs. Sadie Stead had 4 hits, including a triple and 3 RBIs. Emma Menge picked up the win in the circle, going 6 innings and striking out 5, and also drove in 4 runs at the plate. Samantha Becker added 2 hits and an RBI. Avery Menge singled and doubled to drive in two runs, and also struck out 3 batters in her one inning of relief. Kiera Allen added a double while Rylie Glenn and Lily Bain each singled. The Eagles move on to the State Semi-Finals on Friday, June 12th, in Binghamton as they will face the #2 team in the state, Pine Plains. The Eagles move to 20-3 on the season and set a school record for wins in a season.

Track & Field Highlights
Here are the highlights for Galway at the State Qualifying Meet, which was held on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Mae Budris came in 6th in discus for Class C girls and again set a new record with a throw of 104 feet and 5 inches. She accomplished this despite having a bad ankle. In shot put, Mae threw a personal best of 30 feet 9.25 inches, which was also good for 6th place in class C girls.
- Elenor Douglas finished 5th in the Class C girls' pentathlon.
- Nora Schaperjahn came in 3rd in the Steeplechase for Class C girls.
