ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Tuesday! Stay Positive and be Grateful, EAGLE NATION!!!! Remember to make hay while the sun is shining.  We had some exciting athletic events last night.  Modified Volleyball games were down to the wire.  The Boys Varsity Soccer team held on for a tough 1-0 win, while our girls battled till the very end against a state-ranked team, and our Golf team pulled out a last-minute victory.  Check out all the highlights.
Congratulations to our girls' volleyball team as they have moved up to #6 in the State Rankings.
Come out tonight to the volleyball match, as we will be hosting the scoreboard dedication immediately after the JV game.  We hope you are able to join us for the ceremony.

The action continues this week on the court and fields, so check out the entire Fall Sports schedule below.

Remember, keep it classy, Eagle Nation!

We have started selling our Varsity Jackets early this year, so we can conclude the sales in early October to ensure they arrive in time for Christmas.

HIGHLIGHTS

Volleyball Highlights

The Modified Volleyball team was back at it again last night as they hosted Fonda. The 8th-grade team had great chemistry and teamwork as they won 2 out of 3 sets, taking home the W.  The 7th-grade team fought hard, but lost both sets 21-25 and 20-25.
Great job!

Girls Soccer Highlights

Galway weathered the undefeated, state-ranked Schoharie Storm Monday night. The Golden Eagles conceded twice in the first half and once in the second, but fought for all 80 minutes. Galway’s defense was put to the test as the back line stayed composed and organized to hold off a lot of offensive momentum. The girls are back in action on Wednesday in Pink, against Canajoharie-Fort Plain.

The loss moves the girls to 3-2 in the league and 5-3 overall. Congratulations on a great team effort!

Boys Soccer Highlights

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Soccer team for defeating Schoharie last night.  Galway and Schoharie were evenly matched in this WAC match-up. Both defenses played great, while Schoharie had the shots advantage 19-14 and held possession a little better than Galway. Corners were also even at 3-3, but would also be the deciding factor. With 10 minutes left in the game, Galway's Jameson Wagner played a corner kick into the box that Josh Eaton put away to give Galway the 1-0 lead. The game would finish in a 1-0 Galway win.  The Eagles move to 3-7-1 on the season.

Golf Highlights

Congratulations to the Golf team as they picked up another victory last night, as they defeated Schoharie 8.5 to 6.5.  Rex Gardinier (61) clinched the match as he picked up the decisive match point by winning holes against his opponent.  Andy Miller (40) and Matt Jones (39) both shot qualifying rounds, and both picked up two points each.  Colton Knickerbocker (50) picked up a 1/2 point for the Eagles, and Cody Lanka (52) and Jake Page (68) rounded out the lineup for the Eagles.  The Eagles travel to the WAC Championships tomorrow.  Good Luck!
