Boys Soccer Highlights
On Saturday, in the consolation game of the 2025 Northville Ring of Fire Tournament, Galway came away with 3rd place in a tightly contested game. 20 minutes into the second half, Sophomore midfielder, Jameson Wagner, found the back of the net from 20 yards out, giving Galway a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately for the Golden Eagles, Corinth would find an equalizing goal with just 2 minutes and 30 seconds left in the game. The score remained even through 2 overtime periods. Galway came out in 3rd place, outscoring Corinth 3-1 in penalty kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Flint had another impressive 15-save game, while the defense drew another 6 offsides calls on Corinth. Senior striker Jake Teeling had the assist on Jameson Wagner's goal. Due to NYSPHSAA Rules and Regulations, soccer games aren't decided on PKs, and the game goes down as a tie in the record book. They only use PKs for advancement.
In the Eagles first league matchup of the season, OEJ started out fast moving the ball well and Galway had a hard time adjusting. Galway's Jameson Wagner would even the scoring on a PK after an unlucky handball in the penalty box. OESJ wouldn't look back, scoring another 3 goals in the second half. The game would finish with an OESJ 5-1 win. Hayden Flint come away with 14 saves. The Eagles fall to 0-2-1 on the season.
Golf Highlights The Golf team fell to Duanesburgh 13-2 last night at Hillcrest Golf Course. Andy Miller led the Eagles, shooting a 41, and got another sectional qualifier. Miller also got an Eagle on the 8th hole, which was the tie breaker between him and Duanesburgh's number one golfer. Cody Lanka shot a 49, while Colton Knickerbocker shot a 51 and Matt Joes shot a 53.
