Below is the information on Fall Sports physicals. Also, a reminder that the Fall Sports Start Date has been changed. JV and Varsity sports will start on August 18th, and Modified Sports will start on August 25th.Remember, keep it classy, Eagle Nation

SUMMER DEVICE COLLECTION

With summer break fast approaching, the Galway Tech Department will be preparing for this year's Summer Device Collection. Some students will be receiving new Chromebooks at the start of the 2025-2026 school year, while others will be keeping their current Chromebooks over the break.
- The information below explains how device collection will be handled for each grade:

Grade 8: Students will return Chromebooks, chargers, and cases in Room 604 (ELA).

Grade 12: Students will return Chromebooks, chargers, and cases at the HS Office, Regents Testing Locations, and Senior Breakfast.

All Other Grades: Students will bring home their Chromebooks, chargers, and cases for the summer break.
- Assuming the device has been returned, these students will receive new Chromebooks, chargers, and cases in their homeroom this September. Please note that devices returned without their charger will incur an additional fee.

Sports Physicals
The next sports physicals at school are on Wednesday, Aug 6th at 8:00.
Students need to sign up ahead of time.
Any parent or student can check in with the school nurse if they are unsure if they need one.

NYSPHSAA voted unanimously to move this coming Fall sports date ahead a full week. Here are the new start dates for Fall 2025 Sports
- JV & Varsity Sports - August 18th
- Modified Sports - August 25th

Trap Highlights
Yesterday, the Trap Team traveled to Cicero, NY, for the state championship and had an amazing time! Here are the highlights:
The team took second place in the JV division
Piper Nelson took home the bronze medal in the JV female division
Stacey Winsor shot a 25 straight on his last round
Here are the details of the day:
Joshua Armitage had a great day on the range and shot a 21/17 and then 21/23.
Jake Bickford shot a pair of 24s in his first round, and then a 21/20 to end the day strong.
Lilly Jessop did very well with a pair of 20s in the first round, and a 19 and a 21 in the last round.
Aeden La Bate shot well over his season average today with a pair of 20s and then 18s. Aeden has come a long way at the end of this season.
Matt McCray had an outstanding day and was the highest scoring member of the team, with a pair of 24s to start and then a 22 and 24 to finish.
Piper Nelson has had a fantastic season, and she shot a 20, 24, 22, and 19 in competition today. We are so proud of how far you've come, Piper! Piper was also our highest-scoring female on the team at States.
Jamison Ramey has come a long way this season and shot well above his season average today- he had a 17, 15, and then 15 and 16.
Kailynn Ramsey also showed up ready to break some clays! She has worked hard this season to overcome some setbacks, and she shot fantastically today!
Cleighton Schaperjahn also showed up to states to shoot well over his previous practice averages. We are excited to see him continue to improve next season.
Garrett Symonds is brand new on the team and has also shown up to states to shoot well over his practice average! There is no better time to beat your average than at the state championships! Way to go!

Two of our seniors, Virginia Thorpe and Stacey Winsor, were on the line together and went out of their final season strong!

Jessie Newsom was the leading female novice on our team. She continued to improve through the day and finished the last round with a 20!
Kaleb Johnson was the lead JV male on the team with an 85 out of 100 overall. Great shooting, Kaleb.
We want to thank all of the team members, their families, coaches, volunteers, and the community for supporting the team this season. We would also like to congratulate all seven of our seniors as they head out into the world! To Addy, Seth, Hailey, Stacey, Virginia, Marek, and Kaleb, we wish you the best of luck in the future and never lose sight of your goals!
Upcoming team events: -Thursday, June 12th at 6:30 p.m., the Board of Education is recognizing the team for their achievements. -The fall season starts in September. If you are interested in joining, please get in touch with Coach Heather at htillson@galwaycsd.org
