ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Wednesday, EAGLE NATION!!!!!! We hope everyone has a positive and stress-free day.  What a night it was on the diamond last night as the Varsity Softball team defeated 19th State-ranked Maple Hill in the Class C Semi-Finals, 5-0.  The Eagles move on to face Stillwater on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Luther Forest in Malta.  Check out the highlights below and an amazing article in the Daily Gazette.  Tomorrow is another filled day of athletic events, so make sure to check out the schedule below.

Congratulations to Kiera Allen, as she was selected by the Times Union as one of the top performers of the week for her performance in last week's Sectional Quarterfinals game.

HIGHLIGHTS

Softball Highlights

Congratulations to the Varsity softball team, who defeated the number 19-ranked team in the state, Maple Hill, last night in the Section 2 Class C  Semifinals, 5-0.  The Eagles were led by a dominant performance in the circle by Emma Menge as she allowed only two hits and struck out 9, which led the Eagles to the Sectional finals game. The bats continued to stay hot for the Eagles as they pounded out 11 hits. Courtney Smith, Brielle Cameron, Samantha Becker, and Kristina Becker each had two hits for the Eagles. Rylie Glenn and Kiera Allen added an RBI single. Menge and Cameron also added an RBI each.  Galway moves on to the sectional finals to face Stillwater on Thursday at Luther Forest in Malta at 5 p.m. Galway moves to 19-3 on the season, as they have set the school record for wins in a season, and they now go for their first sectional title in softball since 1984. 

  • Congrats to the Modified Softball Team for beating Northville in a high-scoring showdown last night, 22-18.  Ailey Nelson led the Eagles, going 3 for 4 with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Emma DiPasquale went 2 for 4 with a triple and a single, driving in 2 runs and scoring 3. Lilyana Chevalier, Quinn Clemens, Hailey Hutchens, Harleigh Hill, and Jillian Bickford all chipped in one hit each, and multiple runs scored. Grace Murphy and Maddy Verret contributed to the win by scoring 3 runs each, while Miley Kondenar scored 2 runs. Lilyana started on the mound and pitched 2 innings with 4 strikeouts and only 3 walks, while Hailey and Emma combined to pitch the final 4 innings and did a great job!

Baseball Highlights

The Modified Baseball team fell to Northville last night, 7-5.  Camden Berlin picked up both of the Eagles' hits and drove in one run.  The Eagles fall to 1-10 on the season and have their last game of the season on Thursday.
