ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Today is not just Tuesday; it is transformation Tuesday. That means that success does not just come to you; you have to go out and get it, EAGLE NATION!!!!!! We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend and took a moment to honor all those who sacrificed for our freedom.  The Spring season is winding down as most sports have completed their seasons, and the Modified Baseball and Softball teams will wrap up their seasons this week.  Varsity Track and Field has Sectionals on Thursday at Waterford-Halfmoon.  The Varsity Softball team is still going as they are making their deepest post-season run since 1997, as they host the #19 team in the state, Maple Hill, in the Section 2 Class C Semi-Finals today at 5:00 p.m.  All Galway students will get in for free thanks to the support of the Softball Booster Club. So come out to show your support by wearing blue.

Check out the schedule below for the season (please know that weather can cause dates and times to be subject to change for games and events).

Remember, keep it classy, Eagle Nation

Help Us Shape the Next Capital Project

We invite Galway CSD community members to help us shape the next Capital Project by participating in the following public input sessions in the Junior/Senior High School Library:
  • Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for an abbreviated session called Coffee and Questions during the Galway Booster Club Car Wash and Can Drive fundraiser
Following the defeat of the Capital Project that was proposed in December 2023, the Board of Education Facilities Committee members have been listening to residents’ concerns and discussing the infrastructure needs that were not included in the 2016 Capital Project.
  • The majority of these needs were identified as critical in the district’s most recent Building Condition Survey (completed in 2020)
  • Some of these needs include work that voters passed in the 2021 Small Capital Project that focused on the bus garage, but could not be completed due to cost escalation during and after the COVID-19 pandemic
For archival information on all of our recent Capital Projects, and information on the work that is being considered for the next Capital Project, please click on the Facilities webpage here

Congratulations to Kiera Allen, as she was selected by the Times Union as one of the top performers of the week for her performance in last week's Sectional Quarterfinals game.

Fun fact of the day:  The Beatles' song "A Day in the Life" has a frequency only dogs can hear. It's at the end of the song.

HIGHLIGHTS

Baseball Highlights

The Varsity Baseball team fell to Canajoharie on Thursday night in the rain during their Sectional game, 5-3.  Evan Schaperjahn led the Eagles with two hits and two RBIs.  Tyler Friedman and Andy Miller both added singles for the Eagles.  The Eagles got the runners on 2 and 3rd with one out in the last inning, but were unable to push across either one, as they came up just short to the Cougars in a great battle.  The Eagles finished their season with a record of 7-12.
