ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Wednesday, EAGLE NATION!!!!!! Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go.  Thank you to all who came out to vote yesterday.  The school budget was passed for next year.  There was a lot of action for the Eagle athletics last night.  Make sure to keep reading for highlights, changes, and milestones.  The Varsity baseball team drew the 14 seed for Class C Sectionals and will host the 19 seed Waterford Fordians today at 4:00 p.m.  The Boys and Girls Varsity Track and Field teams had strong showings at the WAC Championships as both teams finished in 4th place.  The Varsity Softball team defeated Fort Plain to win their opening round Sectional game.

Check out the schedule below for the season (please know that weather can cause dates and times to be subject to change for games and events).

Remember, keep it classy, Eagle Nation!

Help Us Shape the Next Capital Project

We invite Galway CSD community members to help us shape the next Capital Project by participating in the following public input sessions in the Junior/Senior High School Library:
  • Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for an abbreviated session called Coffee and Questions during the Galway Booster Club Car Wash and Can Drive fundraiser
Following the defeat of the Capital Project that was proposed in December 2023, the Board of Education Facilities Committee members have been listening to residents’ concerns and discussing the infrastructure needs that were not included in the 2016 Capital Project.
  • The majority of these needs were identified as critical in the district’s most recent Building Condition Survey (completed in 2020)
  • Some of these needs include work that voters passed in the 2021 Small Capital Project that focused on the bus garage, but could not be completed due to cost escalation during and after the COVID-19 pandemic
For archival information on all of our recent Capital Projects, and information on the work that is being considered for the next Capital Project, please click on the Facilities webpage here

Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team as they are now ranked  #7 in the State Class C rankings.

Congratulations to Freshman Pitcher Emma Menge as she reached 150 career strikeouts in last night's game.  Here's to a lot more to come, hopefully.  Great Job, Emma.

Congratulations to Emma's sister, Avery, as she was selected by the Times Union as one of the top performers of the week for her performance throwing a no-hitter last week.

Two HUGE shout-outs!
Congratulations, Simon Evans!  At last night's WAC league championship meet, Simon broke the oldest track and field record in Galway School history.  He ran 3200 meters in 10 minutes and 2.27 seconds, eclipsing the record set by Michael Manning back in 1980.   Some local research revealed that after graduating from Galway, Mike relocated to Ireland, where he played professional rugby and Gaelic football for several years. Congratulations, Mike, for holding the record for a whopping 45 years! And congratulations, Simon, for setting a new mark to be chased by future Eagles!
Congratulations, Kyle Schneider!  A month ago, we weren't sure if Kyle would ever pole vault again after he suffered a fracture to his right arm while at a track meet in Mayfield.  Last night, Kyle showed us what comebacks are all about. With his cast being removed on Friday and only one day to practice before the league meet, Kyle broke the longstanding school record.  He pole vaulted 12 feet 1" to break the record of 12 feet that was first set in 1980 by
Steve Bornitzke and then tied in 2008 by Kevin Miller.  Congratulations Kyle!
