Baseball Highlights
The Varsity baseball team opened WAC League play last night with an exciting multi come-from-behind win over the Fort Plain Hilltoppers. Fort Plain jumped on the Eagles early as they raced out to a 3-1 lead, but the Eagles fought back to tie it at 3-3 in the top of the sixth, but the Eagles quickly fell behind 4-3 in the bottom half, but the Eagles kept battling and pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead and hold on for a 6-4 victory. Tanner Bernard went 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Tynan Seburn picked up the win for the Eagles, and Andy Miller closed it out, picking up the save. The Eagles move to 1-0 in the league and 1-1 overall. They are back in action tomorrow as they host Schoharie.
- The JV baseball team traveled to Lansingburgh to complete their home and away series with the Knights, but the Eagles couldn't get it going all night as they struggled at the plate. They only managed one hit (by Ian Horton) in an 11-0 loss. The Eagles fall to 0-2 in the season.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK |
|
Bodie Cancio
Bodie is a welcome addition to the Modified Track and Field team. He never complains, he is always carrying items without being asked to, and he helps out in general. Bodie is also a fantastic teammate as he cheers for team members and, after finishing his workout, continues to encourage others. He also makes positive connections between his sport and things he has learned in ELA classes, as his current reading essay is about the importance of winning versus enjoying the sport for your own goals. Way to Go, Bodie.
