ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Wednesday Eagle Nation!  Challenges are what make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.  It is another cold one out there today, so make sure to bundle up.  I don't think old man winter is going to leave anytime soon.  The chances to see our Winter athletes perform are getting smaller and smaller, so get out to see our teams play.  It is Senior Night for the Boys' Basketball and Cheerleaders as they host the Storm from Schoharie.  Come out to support both.



IMPORTANT INFO!!!!
NYSPHSAA voted unanimously last Wednesday to move this coming Fall sports date ahead a full week.  Here are the new start dates for Fall 2025 Sports
  • JV & Varsity Sports - August 18th
  • Modified Sports - August 25th

Spring sports open gyms have started (check the times below)!!!

Registration for Spring Trap season is open (see information below). 

  • There are only 37 days till Spring (PLEASE BRING NICE WEATHER HERE QUICKLY!!!!)

  • College Softball and Baseball kicked off this weekend with games.

  • It's just 5 days until the DAYTONA 500.  Let's get ready to start those engines. 

  • It is 55 days till the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, and 139 days until Wimbledon.

Sports Physicals

TRAP SHOOTING TEAM
  • Registration opens February 4th
  • Open to grades 6-12
  • Must be 12 years old or older
  • No equipment or experience is required
  • Practices/Matches are Thursdays 230-430 and/or Sundays 12-4

HIGHLIGHTS
Girls Basketball Highlights
The Varsity Girls Basketball program has picked up a couple of wins in their last two games to improve to 12 and 7 on the year and 8-4 in the league placing in 5th place in league action.  
 
On Friday night at Schoharie, the team found themselves down in the third quarter by as much as 8 points and battled back to win 38-33. Brielle Cameron led the team with 14 points and Anna Spadaro followed up with 9 points. Bridey Flint hit a couple of three-pointers and finished with 8 for the game.
 
Last night the team played Johnstown in the first round of the crossover matchups. Leading 22 to 15 at halftime, Johnstown found themselves at the line in the third quarter scoring 11 of 13 foul shots and outscoring the Eagles 17-8. The girls kept their composure and came roaring back in the 4th. With great energy from the sideline to the court, the Eagles outscored Johnstown 16-7 and won the game 46-39. Kierra Allen (17 points) Breille Cameron (16 points) and Kristinia Becker (6 points) led the team in scoring and led the charge in the 4th quarter.
 
The next game will be at FMCC on Friday night at 615 against rival Mayfield for the third match-up this season.
