ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

As the sun rises this Thursday morning, so does your potential for greatness, Eagle Nation! Remember that there are no secrets to success; it is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.  The temperature rises over the next few days with snow on Sunday but then buds back as temperatures plummet starting Monday into the single and negative. 

Our busy week of athletics continues as we turn into the home stretch of the winter season with only 4 more weeks to go, so make sure you check out this week's and next week's schedules below.  Varsity jackets are expected to be available at the end of the week.  It is Coaches vs. Cancer week on the hardwood at the Eagles' Nest!  Tonight is our Modified and Varsity Wrestling match as they take on Duanesburg at 6:00 p.m.  We've had several schedule changes, so please keep checking our schedule updates below.  Only 63 days till Spring and just 26 days until Spring Training begins with Pitchers and Catchers reporting or MLB.  Remember to keep it classy Eagle Nation!

HIGHLIGHTS

Boys Basketball Highlights

Last night the Galway Varsity Boys lost to Fonda 34 to 72. The Eagles were led by Hayden Flint with 15 pts. and Sean Gilison with 6 points. The player of the game was Sean Gilison who hit two 3's had 1 steal, 1 loose ball recovery, and only 1 turnover.  The Eagles fell to 1-11 on the season.

  • The JV Boys also fell to Fonda last night by a score of 22-49.  Andy Miller led the way with 7 points and Grayson Eagan chipped in 6 points.  The Eagles fell to 2-10 on the season.

Girls Basketball Highlights

The JV Girls traveled to Fonda last night in what turned out to be a battle between the Eagles and Valley Hawks.  A back-and-forth game all night was tied at 21 apiece at the end of the fourth quarter last night pushing the game to overtime.  The Valley Hawks had a little more left in the tank than the Eagles did as they pulled away for a 30-23 victory.





ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Alek Holman

Alek Holman is one of the hardest workers at practice. He is a team leader and role model for the rest of the modified boys' basketball team, and he has a strong work ethic and attitude. He understands and promotes the "we is greater than the me" philosophy. He also had a great game in the first game against BKW this week, playing hard defense and scoring 13 points.
