ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

It's thumbs up Thursday Eagle Nation! If you stand on your tippytoes, you can see Friday. Holiday Break is inching closer by the minute, so hang in there.  Temperatures start plummeting as the day goes on and into next week, so break out those scarves and winter jackets.  Last night our Varsity girls hosted Middleburg and dominated from the tip-off till the buzzer.  The Boys JV and Varsity traveled to Middleburgh with both coming up on the short end.  We still have a lot of action on the hardwood and mats this week, and over the Holiday break with a number of our teams partaking in Holiday Tournaments, so check out the schedule below.  Tonight Modified and Varsity Wrestling travel to Cobleskill-Richmondville, while our Modified Basketball teams play Middleburgh.  Remember tomorrow is the Pep Rally and Blue & Gold Day, so let us see that Spirit EAGLE Nation and fill the halls with blue and gold.  The Eagle Apparel Store through BSN is up and running, get your gear from the link below.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

Galway Girls Varsity basketball got a fast start against Middleburgh last night, leading after the first quarter 18-2. Anna Spadaro had 8 points in the first quarter. The team never looked back; the final score was 43 to 14. Kiera Allen led the team with 21 points, with seniors Anna Spadaro chipping in 9 and Taylor Germain 7. Their next action is Friday night in Johnstown. The Girls move to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play

Boys Basketball Highlights

Last night, the boys' varsity basketball team fell to Middleburg 69 to 42. Tyler Friedman was the player of the game, scoring 10 points, having 2 steals, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Sam Reedy had 7 rebounds and 8 points.  The Eagles fell to 0-7 on the season

  • The JV team fell to Middleburgh 50-30 last night and fell to 0-6 on the season.  Josh Eaton led the Eagles with 21 points and Andy Miller dropped in 8 points.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Hailey Reome

Hailey Reome is an exceptional teammate and community member. She is dedicated to improving the cheerleading team daily and willing to help new members learn cheers and dances without hesitation. Recently, Hailey had the idea to send birthday cards to an alumna/community resident who turned 100 years old! She provided birthday cards for each team member to decorate, and Hailey delivered them to the resident. We are thankful to have Hailey as a Golden Eagle!
