ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

It's Monday Motivation, EAGLE NATION! We are into the home stretch heading into Christmas Break.  We got his Eagle Nation!!!!!!

We had a lot of action on the hardwood over the weekend, so check out the results below.  We have an action-packed week on the hardwood and mats, so make sure you check out our weekly schedule.  There are no athletic events on the docket today as we have the Grade 6-8 Holiday Concert. Last night was a Full Moon, so we will still get to see 98% of the moon tonight.  Get those umbrellas ready for tomorrow as a lot of rain is in the forecast.  
  • There are only 4 more wake-ups until Christmas Break!

Did you know?  One of the most iconic and fun facts about basketball is that the very first basketball hoop was a simple peach basket nailed to the gym balcony. Players would shoot the ball into the basket, but there was no hole at the bottom, so someone had to climb up to retrieve the ball each time a point was scored. It wasn’t until much later that open-bottom nets became the standard.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

The Girls Modified traveled to Northville on Saturday winning a battle over the Falcons 25-13.  Kenzie Gardiner led the way with 9 points and Katy Ferguson chipped in 8 points.  The Eagles move to 2-1 on the season

Boys Basketball Highlights

The Galway Boys Varsity basketball team lost to Mayfield Friday Night 35 to 49. Chase Maher was the player of the game with 9 points and 9 rebounds.  The Eagles fall to 0-6 on the Season.

  • The JV Basketball team fell to the Mayfield Panthers 50-34 Friday night to fall to 0-5 on the season. Josh Eaton and Hunter Kanaby each had 12 points to lead the Eagles
The modified team moved to 3-0 on the season as they defeated the Northville Falcons 36-18.  Issac Schaperjahn led the way with 16 points and Theo Friedman chipped in with 4 points.
