ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

IT IS FRIDAYYYYYYYYYY EAGLE NATION! We made it!!!!  Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball team as they won their 9th consecutive league title last night and pushed their current league winning streak to 84 consecutive games. 


GOOD LUCK to the GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER Team as they play their first round of Sectionals today.  See information on the game below.  Also today, the Modified volleyball team travels to Mayfield.


The Girls' Varsity Soccer team received the #10 seed in the Section 2 Class C Sectional Bracket. They will travel to Bolton on Friday to play the #7 seed of Bolton-Warrensburg at 3:00 p.m.   GOOD LUCK EAGLES!!!!!!
  • The game will be played at Bolton CSD.  The school address is :

    • The field is actually at the bottom of the hill below the high school,  next to the firehouse.  The Firehouse address is:

Yesterday the Cross Country team held the Pumpkin Mile for 5th and 6th graders. Congrats to the 5th and 6th graders who ran the Pumpkin Mile yesterday.  Everyone who participated did an amazing job.  Thank you to all the runners and walkers. The Galway XC team appreciates you coming out for the event. 
  • 6th grader CJ Anderson won the race overall followed by 5th graders Richard Duncan and Brayden Berlin. 
  • Congratulations to 6th grader Brooklyne Taylor who was the first girl to cross the line followed by 5th graders Maddalyn Berlin and Felicity Price.  
  • Medals went to 6th graders CJ Anderson for his first-place finish, Fred Colabello for his second-place finish and Callen Stead for his 3rd-place finish for the 6th grade division.
  • Medals went to  Brooklyne Taylor for her first-place finish, Mara Allan for her second-place finish, and Lauren Hopper for her 3rd-place finish in the 6th-grade girl division.
  • Medals went to Richard Duncan, Brayden Berlin, and Carter Knapp for their top 3 finishes for the 5th-grade boys division.
  • Medals went to Maddalyn Berlin, Felicity Price, and Sidney Snyder for their top 3 finishes in the 5th-grade division.

  • The Galway Friends of Music hosts their annual Coffeehouse on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym. 

Today is National Greasy Food Day. What a great thing for a Friday!!!! It's going to be chilly this weekend Eagle Nation, so make sure you bundle up and stay warm. Make sure you get those leaves picked up as time is ticking away to get it done.

  • Eagle Nation, as you sign up for Winter sports, please make sure to upload the latest physical on the registration and check with Nurse Horne should you wish to verify that we have the updated physical.
  • We are working with the Doctor's office for our sports physical date, but they are having a new computer system installed and are unavailable first 2 weeks of November.

HIGHLIGHTS

Volleyball Highlights

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Canjo-Fort Plain in a WAC league match last night in three sets by the scores of 25-11, 25-20, and 25-17. Galway finished the regular season 12-0 in the league and moved to 13-1 overall, as they captured their 9th consecutive league title tonight. The Eagles have now won 84 consecutive league games dating back to 2017.  Kiera Allen and Taylor Garrison led with 12 kills each, while Kiera Allen also dished out 12 assists.  Courtney Smith added 5 kills and 19 assists, while Sophia Dugan chipped in 8 kills and 10 digs. Galway now awaits sectional seeding on Tuesday.

  • JV Volleyball rounded out their WAC league season by sweeping Canjoharie-Fort Plain with set scores of 25-20 and 25-17. The team was led by Emma Menge and Amelia Leclerc with 8 kills apiece and Kenzie Gardinier with 18 assists. The team finishes 12-0 in the league and the 2024 JV WAC Champions.  They travel to Maple Hill tomorrow to wrap up their season
