ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Welcome to Wednesday, EAGLE NATION! We are halfway through the week!!! We have a lull in the schedule today as we have no events other than practices.  Our teams are back in action on Thursday.  Try to get out to support the Girls Varsity on Friday. 



The Girls' Varsity Soccer team received the #10 seed in the Section 2 Class C Sectional Bracket. They will travel to Bolton on Friday to play the #7 seed of Bolton-Warrensburg at 3:00 p.m.   GOOD LUCK EAGLES!!!!!!
  • The game will be played at Bolton CSD.  The school address is :
    26 Horicon Ave. Bolton Landing, NY 12814
    • The field is actually at the bottom of the hill below the high school,  next to the firehouse.  The Firehouse address is:
      • 5003 Lake Shore Drive. Bolton Landing, NY

There are a few happenings at Eagle Nation this week outside of sports:
  • The Galway Friends of Music hosts their annual Coffeehouse on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Gym. 
  •  Friday is also Dress like the '50s. 

Today is National Boston Creme Pie and National Mole (as in Avogadros number 6.02x10^23) Day.


On this date in 1941, the Disney animated Classic Dumbo had its world premiere.

  • Eagle Nation, as you sign up for Winter sports, please make sure to upload the latest physical on the registration and check with Nurse Horne should you wish to verify that we have the updated physical.
  • We are working with the Doctor's office for our sports physical date, but they are having a new computer system installed and are unavailable first 2 weeks of November.

HIGHLIGHTS

Volleyball Highlights

Galway defeated Duanesburg in a WAC league match tonight in three sets by the scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.  Sophia Dugan led the way with 12 kills and 10 digs.   Kiera Allen added 10 kills and 10 assists, while Ava Remscheid added 7 kills and 4 blocks.  Courtney Smith added 5 kills and 15 assists, and Kaylee Colabello had 22 digs.    Galway is 11-0 in the league and moves to 12-1 overall.   Galway finished up their regular season on Thursday as they host Canjo-Fort Plain. 

  • JV Volleyball swept Duanesburg with scores of 25-13 and 25-10. The team was led by Amelia Leclerc in kills, Makaela Muzzy in digs, and Kenzie Gardinier in assists. The team moves to 13-1 overall and 11-0 in the league.

Cross Country Highlights

WAC League action at Johnstown the Galway XC runners did very well.
  • The Galway Varsity Boys finished their WAC league record with an undefeated dual meet record and are 9-0 for the season.
    • In last night's race, they defeated BKW 20-38 and Johnstown 15-50.
    • Simon Evans came in 1st, Trevor Bombard came in 2nd and Cody Schneider came in 4th.
  • The modified boys lost to BKW by 10 points but defeated Johnstown. They were led by Issac Schaperjohn who came in first and Gabriel Mele who came in 3rd.
  • Ailey Nelson came in first again in the modified girls' race.
  • Amelia Jordan led the Galway Varsity Girls who had a 3rd place finish.
