Connecting with Saratoga County Veterans

Galway Central School District recently had the privilege of hosting 19 veterans from the Saratoga County Veterans Peer Connection for a memorable and meaningful day of learning and conversation with students.
Veterans met with students in the AP U.S. History classes, AP World History classes, and the senior class, sharing personal stories and experiences from their military service. The event provided students with a unique opportunity to engage directly with individuals whose lives and sacrifices helped shape the history they study in the classroom.
Students listened intently as veterans reflected on their experiences, the lessons they learned through service, and the importance of preserving and sharing history with future generations.
The conversations created powerful connections between generations and gave students a deeper appreciation for the courage, resilience, and dedication of those who have served our country.
Galway CSD extends a heartfelt thank you to Erin Cassidy from the Saratoga County Veterans Peer Connection for helping coordinate this outstanding event and for her continued support of veterans throughout the community.
The district would also like to recognize Assistant Principal Max Burman for organizing the visit and ensuring students had this valuable educational opportunity.
Special thanks as well to Lizzie Feulner from the Galway Senior Citizens Club for helping make the connection and playing an important role in bringing this wonderful event to Galway.
Most importantly, Galway CSD sincerely thanks all of the veterans who took the time to visit our school and share their stories. Their willingness to speak with students created an unforgettable experience that brought history to life in a truly meaningful way.
