Odyssey of the Mind Teams Shine at Regional Tournament!

We are excited to share that the Galway Central School District Odyssey of the Mind teams did an outstanding job at their Regional Tournament! Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving competition that empowers children to use their natural creativity to tackle challenges and develop valuable problem-solving skills.
Our teams have been working hard on their problem solutions since the fall, and this year, Galway had teams compete at various levels. Our youngest team participated in the primary level competition, while our division two teams tackled both the structure and vehicle problems.
We are thrilled to announce that the structure team came in second place and the vehicle team came in first! The vehicle team will advance to the NY State finals in April.
Congratulations to all of our team members for their hard work and dedication! A special thank you to the team parents, tournament volunteers, and coaches for providing our students with this incredible opportunity to grow and succeed. We couldn’t have done it without your support!
The Primary team of Natalie Bertholf, Orla Neahr, Henry Grupp, Izzy Johnson, Greta Peters, and Kathryn Murray is coached by Erica Bertholf and Chelsea Neahr.
The structure team of Jacob Comeau, Liliana Johnson Lucy Mosher, Stella Mosher, and Peter Prylo is coached by Sheena Johnson and Charon Feathers.
The vehicle team of Ailey Nelson, Avery Pasieka, Henry Pasieka, Mari Smith, Mathias Benvenuto, and Theo Friedman is coached by Julie Pasieka and Peter Harrison.
Way to go, Galway!
