Galway Central School District is proud to present Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) for our youngest learners who will be 4-years old by December 1, 2025. Galway currently offers three full-day UPK classes with a total number of 54 seats. 

New this year ~ a lottery system will be used to select students for the UPK program in the event that the number of students exceeds the number of seats. 

Please complete and submit this form to enter your child in the UPK Lottery. The lottery will open on Monday, March 3, 2025 and close at the end of business on Friday, April 4. 

The lottery drawing, if needed, will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025. Selected families will be notified by email by April 15, 2025, at which time UPK registration will open on FamilyID. Students who are not selected due to space limitations will be placed on a waiting list.

Selected families must complete the enrollment process on FamilyID by April 30, 2025; if selected students are not enrolled by April 30, that spot will become available and the district will begin contacting families whose children are on the waiting list. 

Children who will be 4-years old by December 1, 2025 are eligible for UPK. A child who is age-eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year is not eligible for UPK.

The UPK program is free for families. Funding is provided through a grant from the New York State Education Department.
