ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Wednesday Eagle Nation!  Practice compassion, lift others, learn to encourage rather than criticize, and you'll feel better when you help others feel better.   What a beautiful day yesterday with the sun shining and temperatures reaching the mid-60s, hopefully lots more of that to come just in time for Spring Sports.  Remember Spring Sports sign-ups are open on Family ID.  We offer Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field.  Please get signed up ASAP and the start date will be here before we know it.  See the info below for the link to register.  We have school-wide Spirit Week next week (see flyer below).  Fun fact of the day, Maine is the only state that has a one-syllable name (now you're trying to list/say all 50 states).


The individual Spring Sports stores have been extended until March 22nd. Order something soon to support the teams as they get a portion of each sale.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

On Sunday, March 9th, in Saratoga Springs. McKenna Kanaby was honored as the 2025 Scholar-Athlete Award Recipient for Galway.  All seven conferences were represented for section 2 girls' basketball. There were 67 scholar athletes awarded for their respective schools. The awards were sponsored by the Capital District Board of Women's Basketball Officials. 
  • The purpose of the event is to recognize area high school student-athletes and their achievements in the classroom, community, and on the basketball court. Guidelines for selection include: A senior female basketball player who demonstrates a high standard of academic achievement has shown good citizenship and moral character, demonstrates sportsmanship and leadership skills, and has made a significant contribution to their basketball program.
Congratulations McKenna and thank you for representing Galway!
