ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

HAPPY FRIDAY EAGLE NATION!!!! HOMECOMING is here. It is a full day of activities at the Nest and today is Blue and Gold Day. Let us see that Eagle Pride all weekend long. We have the walk-through today, the Pep Rally, Volleyball matches, and the Homecoming Dance tonight. Our Sports teams are in full action this weekend, and we finish the weekend off Saturday night with Fireworks after the soccer games.

Today the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams host OESJ, and tomorrow we have a full slate of events. See the schedule below.

Attention Galway Alumni! Stop by the Golden Eagle Alumni Tent on Saturday, September 28, 2024, during the Homecoming Weekend soccer games to pick up a lanyard and a treat. The boys’ game starts at 5:00 p.m., and the girls play at 7:00 p.m. We want to introduce all of our alumni in between the games!

HIGHLIGHTS

Volleyball Highlights

The Varsity Volleyball team rolled again last night as they picked up another league win last night over Middleburgh by the scores of 25-7, 25-20, and 25-11. Kiera Allen led the Eagles with 10 kills while Courtney Smith added 6 kills. Taylor Garrison had 5 blocks and 4 aces while Sophia Dugan had 5 kills and Kristina Becker dished out 14 assists. Galway moved to 5-0 in the league and to 6-0 overall. Galway plays tonight vs. OESJ.

JV Volleyball swept Middleburgh in two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-18. Samantha Becker and Lily Haugh led the team in kills and Kenzie Gardinier in assists. The team moves to 5-0 in the league and 6-0 overall and hosts OESJ on Friday.

Boys Soccer Highlights

The Varsity Boys' Soccer traveled to Johnstown last night to play under the lights. The Eagles came up on the short end of a 6-0 loss in a tough physical match all night. The boys are back in action as they host Amsterdam tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.

The Modified Boys' Soccer suffered a heart-breaking loss last night to Cobleskill-Richmondville 2-1. With the score tied 1-1 and time running down in the second half, Cobleskill-Richmondville drew a penalty kick against the Eagles and put it in the net for a 2-1 victory over the Eagles. Justin Grupe scored the lone goal for the Eagles.

Girls Soccer Highlights

The Varsity Girls Soccer team won a thrilling 2-0 game over Johnstown last night. Brielle Cameron scored both goals for the Eagles. the goals were assisted by Norah Schaperjahn and Sophia Fiorillo. The girls play under the lights tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. as they host Bolton-Warrensburrgh.

The Modified Girl's Soccer continued their thrilling season last night as they defeated Johnstown 2-0. Ava Larson and Aubrey Jones led the way scoring the goals for the Eagles. The Eagles move to 5-0 on the season
